Someone to Talk To…
No Pressure. No Labels.
“You don’t need fixing… just space to feel seen.”
Someone2TalkTo is a calm, UK-based community wellbeing directory for anyone looking for someone to talk to when life feels too loud. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally overloaded, burnt out or stuck in your own head, this is a safe ethical place to find someone safe to talk to – gently, honestly, and without judgement.
You don’t need a diagnosis, referral or perfect words. Just a sense that you can’t keep doing this on your own.
- late-diagnosed or self-identified ADHD
- masking and unmasking
- menopause or hormonal shifts
- grief, estrangement or big identity changes
- work stress, caring roles or general “too much”
You don’t need a label to be welcome here. You just need the desire to feel a little more like yourself again. If you’ve been looking for someone to talk to who won’t judge or rush you, this is that kind of space.
Someone2TalkTo helps you:
- Find a practitioner who offers reflective, non-clinical support
- Explore a Library of grounded, evidence-aware articles on ADHD, burnout, menopause, trauma and more
- Discover events and workshops run by people who understand emotional overload from both training and lived experience

How Someone2TalkTo Directory Works
Three gentle ways to use this wellbeing space, depending on what you need right now.
Why Someone2TalkTo is different
Most wellbeing directories are just long lists of names and links, full of jargon and letters after names, that you’re left to sort through on your own. Someone2TalkTo has been created as a community hub – an ethical, values-led space where you can find reflective, non-clinical support, explore grounded information, and slowly get to know the humans behind the profiles through articles, events and gentle conversations. Everything is curated by Hayley, a Psychology with Counselling graduate and CPCAB counsellor-in-training, and shaped by the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and the BACP Ethical Framework.
Our website has been created as a community wellbeing directory.
- it’s small and carefully curated, not a huge anonymous marketplace
- it’s shaped by someone with a Psychology with Counselling degree, CPCAB training and lived experience of ADHD, burnout, trauma and grief
- it brings people together through articles, events, Q&A sessions and gentle conversations with practitioners, creating a community not just static profiles
Behind the scenes, there’s also support for the practitioners themselves – from online coffee mornings to opportunities to share their knowledge through the Library, interviews and community events.
Everything is grounded in compassion, evidence-aware information and the ethical principles of the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and the BACP Ethical Framework. This isn’t crisis support, but it is a safe place where you can find someone to talk to, learn at your own pace, and feel less alone.

Meet the founder…
I’m Hayley – a Psychology with Counselling graduate, CPCAB counsellor-in-training and founder of Someone2TalkTo and MindfulOak.
I created this space because I know how it feels to be holding everything together on the outside while quietly unravelling inside. I also know how hard it can be to find support that feels:
- Calm rather than clinical
- Neurodivergent-aware, not pathologising
- Grounded in real life, not just theory
My own journey includes late-diagnosed ADHD, PTSD, chronic pain, grief and the messy, ongoing work of self-reconnection. Those experiences shape how I curate this directory and how I write for the Library. Alongside my studies and training, I’m guided by the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct and the BACP Ethical Framework, and I expect practitioners who join the directory to work within the ethical codes of their own professional bodies and to stay within the limits of their role.
This space is for…
A calm UK wellbeing directory where you can find reflective, non-clinical support when life feels too loud.
A Library of grounded information and lived experience on ADHD, burnout, overwhelm, menopause, grief and more.
A bridge between people who need space to talk and practitioners who can hold that space with care and ethical awareness.
This space is not…
A crisis or emergency service.
A substitute for medical care, psychiatric treatment or formal psychotherapy.
A place for diagnosis, risk assessment or medication advice.
You are always encouraged to keep your GP, mental health team or other professionals involved if you have them.

What support looks like at Someone2TalkTo
Many people who land here:
- look “fine” from the outside but feel exhausted, numb or overwhelmed inside
- are juggling work, study, caring, parenting or all of the above
- are exploring ADHD, autism, trauma or chronic illness and don’t know where to start
- feel guilty for “not coping”, even though they’re carrying far too much
The trained practitioners you’ll find here offer:
This isn’t about labelling you as broken. It’s about making room for everything you’re holding and, little by little, rediscovering your own sense of direction.

Alongside the directory and Library, Someone2TalkTo is slowly growing into a community space. Over time, you’ll find:
- live and recorded “meet the practitioner” chats, where counsellors, coaches and practitioners talk honestly about their work
- online events and Q&A sessions where you can explore questions with professionals in a safe, non-therapeutic setting
- gentle online coffee mornings and reflective spaces for practitioners listed in the directory
All of these are optional – you can just use the directory if that’s all you need – but if you’re looking for a calmer, more human way to explore support, you’re welcome to join us.
